Stop Limiting Yourself

Watching golfers finish up on the 18th green at Ko Olina today. Such a gorgeous day! I didn't play today, but hit the driving range and worked on some shots.

Someone asked me how often I play, and I have to admit I now play and/or practice 5 days a week. I play in VGA (Veteran Golfers Association) tournaments 3 times a month, I play with a Men's Club (which welcomes women) once a week, and I go practice with buddies 2-3 times a week. If I don't have a group, I walk on and make new friends. As I've started playing more frequently, I've noticed my game is getting better and better. I've worked at it and I'm happy to have made such huge improvements over the past several months.

Up until about a month ago, I only played 2-3 times a week. I was following the lead of some of my "older" golfing buddies who said "It's good to rest in between rounds and not play 2 days in a row." Then I ran into an older golfer who proudly told me he plays 5 times a week. It made me ask myself, "If he can do it, why can't I?" So I played 5 out of 6 days just to see if I could do it. And I did and felt so much more energized. I've met more like-minded people and we're all just having fun. Why was I limiting myself?

Life is short, stop limiting yourself and go have fun!
